Prince Rupert West Coast Day Trips
2026 1-Day West Coast Prince Rupert Tour
Wanting to escape the prairies for some time on the coast?
Join our private charter to Prince Rupert for the ultimate one-day coastal experience.
After enjoying breakfast on the flight to Prince Rupert, you will be shuttled to the Digby Island dock where you will put on your zodiac suit. We will then hop on the Zodiac boat and venture into the National Historic Site at Metlakatla Pass to learn about the Indigenous history of the area that you can only see by boat. Witness the working waterfront of Prince Rupert's industrial terminals which make up Canada's third largest port complex. Capture the beauty of the Great Bear Rainforest by snapping up-close shots of local wildlife such as bald eagles and seals. From your unique vantage points on the water, learn about the city's local history and ecology from an informative guide.
After a brief visit in Cow Bay, we will be travelling by Ole Time Trolley to visit Prince Rupert's premier tourist destination, the North Pacific Cannery. Here, we will step into a nearly untouched piece of Canada's coastal history and enjoy lunch on the beautiful grounds. Set against the rugged backdrop of the Skeena River, this site tells the real story of B.C.'s fishing industry and is a favorite destination of locals and visitors alike.
We will then hop back on our trolley to be toured around the bustling town of Prince Rupert.
*The Zodiac Tour can be bumpy and is not recommended for individuals with back problems, heart conditions, or for those who are pregnant.

The Zodiac is not wheelchair accessible. Guests walk down a ramp to the dock which can be quite steep at low tide. Staff can assist those with minor physical limitations to step aboard the boat as the tubes of the boat are roughly level with the dock. Getting into the full-body Zodiac suits can be quite challenging for guests with physical mobility limitations.
The rest of the tour involves climbing stairs to board the aircraft, buses, and the trolley, and walking for moderate distances to explore the sights. For the Digby Island ferry to return to the airport, there is very limited seating, and most guests stand on deck for the 15-20 minute ferry ride. Please reach out to us if you have specific questions or concerns.
-
Neither! Because we have chartered our own private flight, we depart from the executive departure terminal. Directions and parking details will be provided to all travelers via email prior to the departure date.
-

-
We do not provide for checked baggage on our charters. Pack lightly and use a reasonably sized bag. It is not advisable to bring along a rolling suitcase, it is more practical to use a backpack or small duffel/weekender bag.

The Zodiac tour can be bumpy and is not recommended for individuals with back problems, heart conditions, or for those who are pregnant.
As soon as we arrive in Prince Rupert, we will be shuttled by bus to the Digby Island Dock. Here, we will put on our zodiac suits (a one-piece weatherproof, insulated suit). There is no bathroom at the dock or on board the zodiac so make sure to use the bathrooms on the plane prior to landing or at the airport prior to getting on the shuttle. The zodiac is 26’ long, and seats our group of 12 guests. It travels at high speeds, up to 60 km/hr, and can be chilly, so we recommend packing a toque and gloves. The vessel can safely operate in conditions of up to 2 meter waves and/or 32 knot winds. The itinerary may be adjusted if there is inclement weather. The rest of our day will be at a slower pace! -
We are exploring nature, so we can never guarantee sightings. A lot depends on the season, tides, and time of day. Depending on the day, you may see eagles, ravens, herons or other seabirds, plus harbour seals and sea lions. On occasion, you may also see orcas, dolphins, porpoises, humpbacks, minke, or grey whales.

If your travel availability changes and you need to adjust your trip, Gold Star Canadian Tours will make every effort to schedule you on the next available trip.

Gold Star Canadian Tours does not provide travel insurance with the purchase of your Expedition. Before purchasing trip cancellation, interruption insurance or additional medical insurance, we suggest you check your current insurance providers, as many include coverage as part of current policy, or for a small additional fee.
